Common Question from Photographers: Do you use Templates?
Nope. We DON’T DO templates. And, yes, we have the specs for every major Album Production company in the world. And, if for some reason we don’t have yours on file, we’ll put it in file for you!!!
RAW Color Process [.29]
Our color IS your color, for your ‘Brand’. Based on your personalized profile, we will correct for continuity of White Balance, Color Temperature, Brightness & Exposure levels, Hue, Saturation, Contrast, Black & White points, as well as Clarity levels. This process provides you with finished, but still editable XMP’s that will be delivered to you via email and/or will be transferred to your portable device.
Common Question from Photographers: Is RAW easier for you to edit than JPG?
Yes, it is! RAW files contain more “data” for us to work with, and are more robust. With that being said, we know that you choose the best medium for your workflow, and we will provide great results with either medium!
RAW to JPG Conversion [.04]
This one is pretty straight forward. We take your final color process RAW image and convert it to the JPG format. All final JPG images are converted to 300 DPI and are sRGB.
Common Question from Photographers: Can’t I do that myself using my XMP’s?
Absolutely. Our customers that use this service do so because they do not have sufficient hardware and/or software (ie. fast enough processors, not enough RAM, disk space, correct applications, etc.). Also, the required time and workflow system is sometimes to cumbersome to manage and complete.
JPG Color Process [.34 + .04 = .38]
JPG’s undergo the same color process as the RAW color process. Our professional color process cost is .34. However, the JPG technology does not provide for an accessible side car XMP file, so it must be “Processed/Flattened” like a RAW image in order for the color adjustments to adhere [.04].
Common Question: Why does JPG color processing cost more than RAW color processing?
There are 2 answers to this question. 1) A ‘JPG’ is a compressed image [goes from large to small]. The compression is lossy. Lossy means “with losses” to the image quality. In this case, pre-determined algorithms extract red, green, and blue pixels from the image. With a RAW image there is “no loss,” so color correcting an image that has lost data due to in camera compression is more difficult and time consuming. 2) When you order our RAW color processing services, we will send back your .xmp’s. These files allow you to “see” the adjustments and changes we have made. However, when color correction adjustments are made to the JPEG format, it must be processed in order for the color adjustments to adhere. Therefore, the JPG color process costs more because ‘flattening’ is inherent in the process, unlike RAW.
Additional Archive DVD’s [$15.00]
We will burn your images to archival quality DVD’s for storage and back-up purposes. Each DVD is $15 and is based on 675 images per DVD.
Culling Services [ .08 per image ]
Our cost for this service is based on the ‘Total’ amount of images submitted. That is because we require our editors to view your entire job a total of 3 times to allow for a very good sense of the story, their flow, and substance. This is a serious and critical component to your work flow which is why we methodically scrutinize each and every image we preview. You tell us how many images you would like us to Rough Edit, and we will move forward with the scalpel. Nobody likes to see yucky pictures!

Images NOT time synced [ .05 per image]
Oops! Did your assistant forget to remind you to time sync your 7 cameras and your 2nd photographer cameras? Is image IMG_001 of your bride putting on make-up and IMG_002 of the best man rocking out on the dance floor to AC/DC’s “Back In Black”? This puts a monkey wrench in our process and workflow (ie. makes it diffucult to edit for continuity), and so we do need to charge our customers for that time.
